Single Session Walk-in/Phone-in Service (SSWIS) is the first point of access for individuals seeking support for Adult MHSU Services in the Comox Valley including Courtenay, Comox, Cumberland, Denman and Hornby Islands.
Services Provided:
  • SSWIS provides timely drop-in, walk-in, and phone-in support for in-the-moment Mental and Substance Use related issues that are non-crisis related. Service may include: coaching, counselling, education, assessment, service navigation and linkages, or information specific to MHSU.
  • CV MHSU now screens and assesses Psychiatric Collaborative Care Clinic (PCCC) referrals for the local Psychiatrists who provide services through the Wellness Centre at CVH.
  • Drop-in and virtual groups offered through Mental Health or Substance Use are open to the public. A current schedule or registration to the Mental Health groups is available by walk-in, email or by calling the admin team.

Access Services:
All-access to Comox Valley Mental Health and Substance Use begins through walk-in, phone-in, or referral from self, family physicians, and other health/social services professionals.

Mental Health & Substance Use (MHSU) Navigation Link for Clients/Patients: This service link central access phone number will provide help for clients navigating Island Health services for substance use, harm reduction and mental health. People seeking these services can call 1-888-885-8824 to speak directly with a Service Link provider. (This is not a line for health professionals to initiate a referral).

SSWIS Times are Monday to Friday Morning, 09:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Afternoon 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. NO Single Session Walk-in Sessions on Wednesday afternoons.
